It is with deep regret and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Life Member Porter “Bobby” L. Davis Jr. Bobby passed away at home on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the age of 90. Bobby served 75yrs with the Cecilton Volunteer Fire Company joining in 1950. Bobby was a past Fire Chief, holding the position from 1978 to 1985. He held nearly every fire line position, including Assistant Chief and Chief Engineer and served many years as a Board of Director.
Bobby was born in 1934 and was a lifetime resident of the Cecilton/Earleville area. Bobby owned and operated Davis Service Station in Cecilton for over 40yrs. He enjoyed waterfowl hunting and fishing, but his passion was playing cards several nights a week with his friends. Bobby was devoted to “Service For Others” and he will be missed.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 10:00am to 1130am at the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L Schaech 118 West Cross Street, Galena, MD. A graveside service will follow at noon in the St. Stephen’s Cemetery, 10 Glebe Road, Earleville MD.
