At 0720hrs, CVFC was alerted for an overturned dump truck on Rt 213 s/o Town. Rescue 1 and Ambo 191 arrived to find a dump truck on its side in the middle of the road. The truck was hauling a load of sand that was spilled across the road. The operator was transported by Ambo 191 to Christiana hospital. The saddle tank was found to be leaking and a request was made for the Cecil County Hazmat Team to respond for a pump off. Frank's Auto Body responded with their 35Ton wrecker and other equipment to right the truck. DDC, Inc. also assisted with removing the spilled load from the roadway. Crews washed down the remaining sand from the roadway that couldn't be removed by the loader. Rt 213 was shut down for nearly 4hrs with all units clearing the scene just after 1100hrs.
